St. Mary of the Lake Seminary

The historic St. Mary of the Lake Seminary 1920 building complex needed a complete Slate Roof Restoration on all their buildings. L. Marshall Inc was engaged to replace all the slate roofs throughout the Mundelein, Illinois Campus because of our slate roof experience.

Summary:

St. Mary of the Lake Seminary is a historic seminary centered on the training Archdiocese lay ministers and the formation of clergy.

Historic roofing restoration projects require a special attention to detail and a love for preservation. L. Marshall constructed custom scaffolding and other safety equipment to avoid any disruption to campus activity as part of their construction plan.

L. Marshall replaced the existing 1920s slate roof throughout the campus with a natural slate material. The team coordinated their work with the University Architects and the Director of Facilities. They fabricated and installed custom architectural sheet metal flashings to match the original roof design.

Because of their experience and quality of work, L. Marshall was trusted with a long-term engagement of maintaining and replacing all the slate roofs throughout the campus.

The original project was completed on time and under budget.
