Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law

Northwestern University Law School needed a new slate roof and custom copper sheet metal to replace the roof on their landmark building.

Summary:

A Northwestern preferred vendor, L. Marshall Roofing and Sheet Metal was hired to replace the existing slate roof on the Northwestern University Law School. Because of its proximity to Lake Michigan, this mid-rise building was vulnerable to the effects of powerful lakefront winds.

L. Marshall installed a natural slate roof system with custom copper sheet metal details that duplicated the historic building’s original design. The new slate roof was built to withstand the harsh winds of Lake Michigan. A highly trafficked building, the project required scaffolding from the ground up to protect pedestrians while the work continued without disruption to daily Law School operations.

The project was completed under budget, on schedule and without any disruptions to the Northwestern Community.
